Amazon is doomed. Ads are dead. KU is a cage. KU is the future. While everyone argues, someone quieter is building an empire. Let it be you.
Get your free 7-day trial of Author Empire and start building real money inside your author career. Or, if you are tired of scraping by, join this: skool.com/thewritingwives
Let me read you this week's obituaries.
Amazon is doomed. Facebook ads are dead. Email marketing does not work anymore. Wide is the only path forward. Wide is a trap. Kindle Unlimited is the future. Kindle Unlimited is a cage. AI is ending publishing as we know it. Dictation is not really writing. Audiobooks are not really reading. And do not you dare use a ghostwriter.
Spend enough time in author spaces and you will find a convincing, evidence-backed, passionately argued case for every position imaginable. Including the positions that directly contradict each other.
Here is what all of that actually is.
It is an energy suck. It does not matter what others think. Only what you think.
I want to be honest about the cost, because it is not free. Arguing online about publishing strategy rarely sells a book. Getting swept into drama rarely grows a list. Doom-scrolling outrage rarely improves your craft. These things feel productive. They feel like engaging with your career. They are not. They are spoon thieves, and your spoons are finite.
And while all of that is happening, the clock is still running. Every hour you spend in the comment section is an hour a quieter author spent writing the next chapter, studying their market, and building their list. That gap compounds. In one week it is nothing. In one year it is a career.
The people arguing online now will still be arguing online later. While you build your legacy.
Here is what I want you to do:
Pick your real signals and mute the noise. Watch your own numbers. Watch what actual readers do. Ignore the rest.
Then spend your spoons on the things that compound. Writing the next chapter. Studying your genre. Improving your packaging. Building your email list. Serving your readers well. That is what looks like a career in five years, instead of a lot of very exhausting online activity.
Fear is not a strategy. Do not borrow other people's fear and make it your own.
Keep your head down. Get stuff done. (You know the word I actually used.)
Inside Author Empire, we cut the noise down to the signals that matter, so you can stop reacting and start building. Come try it free for 7 days.
We are so glad you are here.
